This is kind of random, but I hate when my parents talk to guests about my OCD.

They don't say anything else about me EXCEPT that I have OCD.

My cousins only know that I obsessed over Dora when I was a kid and that my mom says 'that's because of the obsessive part of obsessive compulsive disorder.' All they know is that I went to therapy when I was 6 or 7 because I 'was having fits' or something.

It's just uncomfortable.

"Oh, their kid – who is 4 – might have it! It's better to catch it early! It's okay to spread information. Don't withhold information from your cousins/dad's friends/whoever. Do you want to be grounded? Don't be rude." SHUT UP.

OCD is not a disease.

I'm not 'suffering' with neurodivergencies.

You can share information about OCD without describing my therapy sessions to 5 people I don't know.

Am I not allowed to be upset? Every single time somebody it's over it's "Well, ___ has OCD."

its so weird to me personally that some people think that it doesnt make sense for craig to be nice to wildernessa but still hate jason (up until scout guest), but to me the worst thing wildernessa has done is say that craig doesnt know shit about nature vs jason whos basically like "ok tony now hit the second tower" for the majority of his screentime, and people wonder why craig doesnt trust him most of the time huh

mine is that im a far off traveler who arrives on the shores of ancient fantasy mdzs china with foreign cultivation (and a translation spell) who ends up going to the nearest cultivation sect as like a guest cultivator

i'm allowed to stay there and wwx is the one mostly running things since the sect heir and some of his disciples are out on a night hunt expected to last about two weeks, so i'm well settled into lotus pier by the time the sect heir comes back

and i make a total fool out of myself just staring like a moron because jiang cheng is so so so so so pretty why did nobody fucking prepare me for this???? and so i end up saying "sorry i was just. you're literally the most gorgeous person i've ever seen in my life"

and jiang cheng BLUSHESSSSS because obviously no one has ever said this to him and im like can we date. can i court you. please let me walk along the shoreline with you beneath the stars and hold your hand and kiss your cheeks

and jfm and yzy basically say that my foreign concept of dating isnt really done amongst gentry they usually set up arranged marriages/betrothals but they arent willing to do one with me since i'm a foreigner with nothing to my name and no dowry to bring to the marriage. so i decide then that im going to spend time in all the great sects learning from them and making a name for myself until i have a strong enough reputation that they'll give me permission to ask for jiang cheng's hand

and he's like so flustered and i gotta keep hyping him up while i'm there because like. he clearly has self confidence issues and doesn't think he's anything that impressive next to wei wuxian but quite honestly it's more impressive to me to not naturally be good at something and needing to put in hours and hours and hours of hard work and training to perfect your craft rather than just naturally being amazing at it

I think it's probably worth saying just how different the animatronics start out as in Meteors. They're still fundamentally the same as how they've always been for me, but there's less freedoms, less lenience and less security for them to any other AU of mine. It's meant to highlight how Fazbear as a whole treat their animatronics poorly, treating them like marvelous toys instead of the sentient robots they've allowed to form.

Things like Roxy's interest in mechanics. She still has that! She's still curious and still pokes around with the inside of the go-karts, the forklifts and whatever else she can find! But she can't leave any evidence that she's doing it. She can't repair something without someone knowing. She's not allowed to know how to repair her fellow animatronic, and yet she picks up bits and pieces to try and figure it out when no one is looking.

It's the same with Chica and her eating, interest in cooking, fairytales and whatever else. It was the same with Freddy and his love of space and desire to see the sky. It's the same with DJ and his love of languages and sound effects. It's the same with all of them. They have the interests, the desires and everything else, they just don't have the freedom to explore them.

Meteors, among other things, is about giving them that freedom.

green waved the student off, only for another one to soon take their place. while he enjoyed being a guest speaker at uva academy with his husband, even he was beginning to get a little tired from the constant barrage of questions and requests for autographs. while the teachers had a pretty good handle of things within the classrooms, the halls were a totally different story. it didn't help that he had to double as a translator for red as many of the students didn't know sign language, and his brain was thoroughly done. once there was a lull in activity, green angled his body so that he could sign to red without anyone looking.

Honestly the teens I run into online are more aware of what's going on in the world than many adults I know.

My pet theory backed by very little, is it's because the teen spaces I have been the resident An Old in are often LGBT and paying a lot of attention to politics and the world is a required survival trait, which is tragic.

Far too many kids these days don't have the luxury of room to be idiots because the world is so damn hostile to them. And us adults are not giving them anything like the support they need.

That I've been the source of old person wisdom for a few people at this point is terrifying because I have very little wisdom of my own. There are a lot of parents and teachers out there that need to get better at things.

We have created a world that's increasingly hostile to children existing, and we wonder why they have some weird, to us olds, opinions.

maybe this take shouldn't be coming out of the mouth of an 18 year old still in high school but i think part of maturing or growing as a person should absolutely include learning to get over your vitriolic hatred of children cause i've never seen a responsible, mature adult go on the internet to talk about how much they hate the minors or think a 16 year old is cringe for expressing discomfort over something. what i've seen instead is people going to embarrassing lengths to talk down to teens because they think they're stupid or that their thoughts matter less and if that's how you truly see the world then i believe that you, the enlightened adult in this situation, can make the conscious decision to disengage and swiftly move on with your life. the block button is free
